The president of SNJT states in his statement that hundreds of families are threatened and that journalists had not received their salaries for more than a year, while others do not even know when they will be paid. In this context, he mentions the example of the Shems Fm radio and the newspaper Dar Assabah as well as the newspaper SNIPE – La Presse, which are all state-run media, and notes that these media are going through great difficulties in relation to the government’s nonchalance.

On the other hand, he emphasized the danger posed by Decree 54 as a threat to freedom of press and expression. “We are ready to take to the streets and use any form of activism. We are ready for this and we are not afraid. To avoid escalation, we call on the government to interact positively to arrive at effective solutions that can solve the problems in the media sector”, he said.
