Steam should soon land in Tesla cars. In any case, this is what Elon Musk announced on his Twitter account. Steam games should therefore soon be available for electric car drivers.
Tesla owners will soon no longer need a gaming PC, well almost. The Steam online video game distribution platform should soon land in Tesla’s electric cars. CEO Elon Musk announced it himself via his Twitter account, as usual.
Currently, several games are already available in electric cars through Tesla Arcade, an integrated application. It offers games like Cuphead, Sonic the Hedgehog, Solitaire or even Beach Buggy Racing 2 which is played with the steering wheel when the car is obviously stationary.
In February, Elon Musk was already teasing the arrival of Steam games in Teslas. In effect, Model S and X are as powerful as a PlayStation 5 in terms of video games thanks to their AMD RDNA 2 graphics card and their AMD Ryzen processor. Elon Musk had therefore declared that: “ We are working on getting Steam games in general to work on Teslas rather than specific titles “.
This time around, the CEO who no longer wants telecommuting at Tesla gave more details about this integration of Steam in electric cars. Responding to a video posted on Twitter that shows the games available, Elon Musk announced that: “ we are progressing with the Steam integration. Demo probably next month “. So this is great news for Steam games.
Of course, the Teslas are still far from be able to run Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 as Elon Musk promised, but they come close. Moreover, a new feature allows them to detect potholes on the road in order to automatically adjust their suspension. Anyway, we will have to wait for more information from Tesla regarding the playability of Steam games. We should know more next month.
