The government will speed up the fourth year of general medical practice. Information leaked to the press over the weekend: The 2023 Social Security budget, to be presented on Monday, will include a measure to extend the studies of would-be general practitioners by a year, with an incentive to go through the medical deserts. “Given the medical demographics and the distribution of professionals in the territory, this year of consolidation is intended to take place as a priority in underpopulated areas”, writes the Ministers of Health François Braun and Higher Education, Sylvie Retaileau, in a mission letter addressed to the general practitioners responsible for consultation on this project.
