The standard, of course, condemns the incidents, including those sustained after the meeting.
The Clasico was stopped in the 64th minute on Sunday with Standard leading 3-1. After the match, “followers” from both sides clashed at a distance and caused quite a bit of damage.
This Monday, Standard communicated about these incidents on its official website.
“Standard de Liège can only regret yesterday’s events that led to the end of the match and strongly condemn the bad behavior that took place at the back of Stand 4 after the match.
Our club is ready to cooperate with the authorities and the Pro League to reflect on adaptations to the rules and the measures to be taken to try to avoid such a situation as much as possible, in Sclessin or elsewhere.
We should all want football to remain a celebration, for a match to end normally and for the athlete to determine the outcome of a match.”
