Industrial production rose 0.9% in March



April 15 (Reuters) – Industrial production in the United States rose more than expected in March, official statistics showed on Friday.

The Federal Reserve reported a 0.9% rise in industrial production last month as analysts polled by Reuters expected growth of 0.4%.

The February increase was revised to 0.9% from 0.5% initially announced, the Fed said.

Manufacturing output also rose 0.9% last month, compared with growth expected by the Reuters consensus of 0.6% and a rise of 1.2% in February.
