French Cup: young people and volunteers are ready

Montier-en-Der Sports Union will play, for the first time in its history, the fifth round of the French Cup against AS Prix-les-Mézières (N3) on Saturday 8 October. The match will be played at 4pm at the Raymond-Oudin stadium. At the club we are actively preparing for this historic meeting. “All the volunteers will be on deck in the morning,” says Frédéric Perrin, president of USM. If Dervois will be outsiders against a formation playing domestically, three divisions above, the support of the supporters will be vital to urge Jean-Luc Humbert’s men to outdo themselves. Regardless of the outcome of the meeting, this day should be a celebratory moment. “It will be a fantastic party at the stadium for the whole club. The 22 players will enter the pitch with youngsters from the football school. There will be entertainment during the break. We want to highlight our training and our youth., explains Frédéric Perrin. This gala match will also see the presence of a facilitator. Forty volunteers have been mobilized. The club is adapting and has requested the postponement of certain youth meetings to ensure as many graduates as possible take advantage of the event. The U16 match has already been brought forward to early in the afternoon. The Dervois Cup weekend ends on the afternoon of Sunday 9 October with the participation of the women’s team in the third round of the French Cup near Woippy (Moselle). The audience is expected in large numbers at the Raymond-Oudin stadium on Saturday afternoon.
