TotalEnergies, for its part, intends to create a similar system: “consumption bonus”. The oil group “will reward its customers who reduce their electricity consumption by at least 5% between November 1 and March 31”, he explains. This prize will vary from 30 to 120 euros, “according to the decrease in consumption achieved by the customer”.
Three million households are affected by this measure: those who have had an electricity contract with TotalEnergies since November 2021 at the latest, who are equipped with a Linky communicating meter and who have not moved since last year. To save 120 euros, it will be necessary to reduce its consumption by 20% compared to last winter. The bonus is thus paid out in April 2022, but cannot be used as the consumer wishes: “This will take the form of a reduction on the invoice”explains the group.
