The federation could write off or take over AI’s debt with the ACP, currently 10.3 billion francs. The Federal Council supports a committee proposal.
According to the text from the Economic Committee of the State Council, the Federal Council will be responsible for submitting to the Parliament before the end of 2023 a plan for the write-off or takeover by the Confederation of AI debt to ‘AVS. For years, the disability insurance has a debt of around 10.5 billion francs with the ACP.
207 million
It is not ACP’s responsibility to finance AI’s debt, the proposal emphasizes. The financing was politically defined. The association must therefore solve this problem. The modalities must be specified during the process.
The Federal Council supports the approach, we learn on Monday d Parliament’s website. “In an economic and social context characterized by many uncertainties, AI must face major challenges. For this, the AI needs a financial margin of maneuver, which should not be limited by the pressure of a repayment of its debt.
Disability insurance closed again in the red in 2021. Its operating loss for that year amounted to 207 million francs, according to figures published last April.
